Goal IV:
Improve access to prevention, detection and treatment

Objective A.
Facilitate access to information on risk factors, prevention, screening, detection, and treatment of skin cancer for all residents of Texas.
  Strategy 1
Enhance access to information on risk factors, prevention, screening, detection, and treatment opportunities in all geographic areas particularly those underserved by health care practitioners and medical facilities.
Strategy 2
Encourage development of coalitions of health care entities that can assure availability of skin cancer screening and follow-up for uninsured individuals.
Strategy 3
Support development of the Texas Cancer Data Center's "Gateway" web site as a clearinghouse for reliable information on skin cancer prevention, detection, and treatment services in Texas.
  Support continued development of skin cancer awareness in the Nurse Oncology Education P rogram, the Physician Oncology Education Program, the Dental Oncology Education P rogram, and other training programs for health care practitioners.

Address cost barriers regarding screening and prevention services.
