Faith, Health and Family Collaborative

"Faith, Health and Family Collaborative," a partnership between The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and African American churches in the greater Houston area, was initiated to address family obesity in the African American community. We are engaging and connecting with churches, community organizations, and African American families, to expand the knowledge about community concerns around African American obesity. "Faith, Health and Family Collaborative" has the potential to provide education and outreach for up to 100,000 African American families in the Houston area, and be a national model for faith-based, academic partnerships to address family obesity.

We hope you find this website useful and informative. Be sure to check out our Resource Connections tab to see the upcoming events and workshops for the Faith, Health and Family Collaborative. Additionally, if you or your church would like to become more involved with the collaborative, head to the Community Chats tab to see how you can get involved!
